Throwback Thursday

Ughhhhhh, I hate Throwback Thursday. It always seems to end with my baby pictures plastered all over Facebook…… thanks mom. However, today I’m taking part of Throwback Thursday (I know I promised to talk about my job but ehhhhh my blog my rules). Anyway, I wanted to share with you a little piece of middle school me (scary right??). I started this blog when I was in middle school, and anyone who has read some of my earlier posts knows how scary I was. i always talked with out spealing things right annd their was mistakes everywhere because i was too lazy two use proper grammer. Ughhhh *shiver* that was the old me. Anyway I’m still not perfect, but I’m a lot better now. So to share with you a piece of old me, here’s a poem I wrote in seventh grade.

Pass It On

Pass it on

Pass it on

My friends say to me

After telling me a

Secret

Do I pass it on??

Do I keep it to myself??

Is it true??

Is it false??

I know that it’s

Gossip

Will my friends still like me if I don’t pass it on??

Will I hurt someone if I do??

Gossip gossip

I think to myself

And I don’t pass it on

Yeah, so there’s a piece of old me. Wow my poems sucked even more back then. At least I could come up with titles haha. Titles are my weakness dun dun duuunnn. Alright so I showed you old me and now I want to show you a bit of new me. This poem is still in the works but here goes nothing.

Sick

Can I tell you a secret??

I still wonder sometimes

Real, open-eyed wonder

I guess it’s because I’m not an adult

I haven’t been cured

Of my “childish ways”

By no means am I naïve

I’m just not blind yet

They say it will happen as I age

I’ll stop seeing little things

At first

To be cured of sight

To not see the women’s wrists

Adorned with Alex & Ani & Bruises

To be blind to the deterioration

Slowly eating away at the world

Oh what a dream to dream

I still dream sometimes

True, surreal dreams

I guess it’s because

I’m not an adult

I haven’t been cured

Of my “childish ways”

By no means am I naïve

I’m just not deaf yet

This too will develop

As time goes by

I’ll stop hearing things

Nothing important

Just the whispers

Of fabled freedom

And the screams

Of those who never

Grew up

Oh what a song to sing

I still sing sometimes

I guess it’s because

I’m not an adult

I haven’t been cured

Of my “childish way”

By no means am I naïve

I’m just not mute yet

They say this happens the fastest

I’ll stop speaking

I won’t belt out in the shower

Or offer

A greeting or

A condolence or

A warning

To anyone

It’s safer this way

Oh what a feeling

I still feel sometimes

I guess it’s because

I’m not an adult

I haven’t been cured

Of my “childish ways”

By no means am I naïve

I’m just not paralyzed yet

I can feel the rumored

Love

And I’m starting to feel

Fear

It’s creeping up my body

Ever so slowly

And it burns white-hot

Suffocating me

In my once-cozy cage

It opens my eyes by force

So I know the truth behind

The cure

Oh to be cured

I now know

It’s because I’m not an adult

I won’t be cured

Of my “childish ways”

By no means am I naïve

It’s just that

I can still smell

I still smell the steaming bull crap

They serve on silver platters around here

That’s why they give us

The cure

To infect us with idiocy

To fix what isn’t broken

Running is the only way

Escape is essential

But we’ve been under our own

Lock and key so long

That no one remembers

 Where we hid the key

It’s too late for me

Avenge my senses

And never give up your

“Childish Ways”

Don’t let them take you too

It only takes one person

To start a revolution

And don’t forget-

I don’t think anymore

I guess it’s because

I’m an adult

I’ve been cured

Of those “childish ways”

By no means am I naïve

I just know what’s best for me

And you

Follow me

Join me

It’s better with the cure

Don’t live your life

Sick.

Okay if you suffered through that gigantic poem I love you. Also, this is meant to be a spoken word so it sounds much better when its performed rather than just read. Thank you guys so much for reading my blog, it means the world to me.
